County assessor says Oklahoma County may receive roughly $410,720 rebate tied to appraisal software program

The assessor explained the background: counties across Oklahoma historically used an appraisal system called GRAMA (Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal System). The state sought to replace the aging system and arranged for a portion of revenue stamp fees to be collected and directed to Oklahoma State University’s Center for Local Government Technologies (CLGT) to manage acquisition and training for a new appraisal program. Counties that did not adopt the new vendor have been allowed to file claims for partial refunds, the assessor said.
The assessor said Oklahoma County’s accumulated contribution over a three-year rollup qualifies it for the rebate and that the money would return to the county general fund. Commissioners approved filing and payment actions as needed to pursue the claim. The assessor noted the precise allocation of funds within the county general fund would be determined later through normal county budgeting processes.
