Council approves $25,000 funding agreement with Green Valley–Sahuarita Chamber for economic development

The Sahuarita Town Council on Monday approved a $25,000 financial participation agreement (Contract No. 250013) with the Green Valley–Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce to support local economic development for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024.
The contract matters because it funds the Chamber’s local programs and events that the town and chamber say promote business growth and community engagement.
Victor Gonzalez, the town’s economic development and public affairs director, introduced the item and turned the presentation to Randy Graff, CEO of the Green Valley–Sahuarita Chamber of Commerce. Graff described the chamber’s membership (417 members total, with 195 based in Green Valley and about 100 located within the Town of Sahuarita) and its activities, including advocacy, networking, marketing and events such as Fiesta Sahuarita and the town’s 30th-anniversary “State of the Town” luncheon on Sept. 18.
Graff told the council the chamber and town have a long partnership and that town support — including use of town facilities and participation in community events — helps local businesses. A council member moved to approve the contract; the motion passed unanimously.
The town will provide $25,000 to the chamber for programs and events through June 30, 2025, under Contract No. 250013.
