Council recommends approval of private club liquor license for Canyon Club at Quail Creek

The Sahuarita Town Council opened a public hearing and recommended approval of an application to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control for a Series 14 private club liquor license for the Canyon Club at the Quail Creek Country Club Property Owners Association.
Lisa Cole, the town clerk, presented the application and told council that staff reviewed the materials, the application had been posted for the required 20 days prior to the meeting and no public comments had been received. Cole said applicants had paid all required fees and staff recommended approval.
Stefan Rockel, the director of food and beverage for the applicant, was present in the audience to answer questions. The mayor opened the public hearing; no members of the public spoke on the item and the hearing was closed. A motion to recommend approval was made, seconded and passed by unanimous voice vote. The council’s action was a recommendation to the Arizona Department of Liquor Licenses and Control; final licensing authority rests with that state agency.
The council invited the applicant to schedule a ribbon cutting if the license is issued.
