He also described an 11‑sign solar powered radar network (nine operational, two under troubleshooting) that collects speed analytics and is intended to support coordination with law enforcement; DiMaggio cited an example of a vehicle recorded at 68 mph in a 40‑mph zone late at night.

Staff also reported routine but critical rapid responses (for example, clearing a concrete spill that created an immediate roadway hazard) and ongoing right‑of‑way permit activity (39 encroachment permits last year). DiMaggio said future capital work will include prioritized mill/overlay packages, drainage repairs (where flash flooding threatens roadways) and completion of the town‑center comprehensive sign plan; staff said detailed bid documents and lane‑mile breakdowns will be presented when projects go to procurement.
