Prescott Valley posts consolidated fee schedule, opens 60‑day public comment before June proposals

Town staff told the council on May 1 that the town has posted a consolidated comprehensive fee schedule and opened a 60‑day public notice period before staff returns with any proposed fee changes for council action.

“Once we post this notice, these are the maximum fees that we could bring back to you for approval in June,” Miss Morris said, explaining that the 60‑day period is intended to solicit public feedback and that the posted schedule shows the maximum amounts staff might propose.

Staff noted that two categories of fees are not part of the routine annual review described in the consolidated schedule: the water, wastewater and stormwater increases are governed by a five‑year plan the council approved in 2023, and development impact fees follow a separate process under the Arizona Revised Statutes that requires a five‑year review tied to land‑use assumptions and an infrastructure improvement study.

Town Manager Gilbert Davidson told council the town will spend additional time this fall reviewing development services fees, which have not been updated in several years, and staff will return with recommendations focused on making growth pay for growth while keeping the consolidated schedule easy to understand for residents and businesses.

Staff emphasized that directors are responsible for fees in their areas and will be available to answer specific questions during the public comment period. Staff said the council may choose to adopt the posted maximums, reduce or remove proposed increases, or return with revised proposals after public comment.
