Sierra Vista City Council on Feb. 13 approved two liquor-license actions: a Series 10 (beer and wine retail) license application for Dollar General store no. 24646 and an acquisition-of-control of a Series 6 (full bar) license for Paul's Pub.
City licensing staff reported that notices were posted at the facilities and "to date, no comments have been received from the public pro or con regarding issuing this license," and that the police department's background checks raised no objections. The Dollar General item will be returned to the state for final action and issuance if the council's approval is affirmed by the state.
Council members offered public congratulations to the applicant taking control of Paul's Pub; no council member raised objections. Both items were approved by voice vote.
The council did not attach additional conditions to either approval at the meeting.
