Council extends city manager contract, approves school and city budget amendments and other routine measures

Council members discussed capital needs across the city, including pool renovations and other projects, and asked staff to prepare capital-planning figures for possible borrowing or reallocation of fund balances. Finance staff reported that the city’s unassigned fund balance remains comfortable — described as roughly $8.2 million unassigned and an assigned balance of about $2.3 million — while cautioning that several capital projects could require careful prioritization.
