The board secretary read the official consolidated election results and the board administered the oath of office to the newly elected trustees. The board then elected Jim Batson as board president. A vice president and a secretary were elected during the reorganization process and the board established that the board secretary position will serve without pay.
Board members also appointed the superintendent to represent the district on the Lake County tech campus governing body, and the board reaffirmed the assistant superintendent for finance (Dan Stanley) as school treasurer through June 30, 2027.
Lisa Hessel served as president pro tem for the opening of the reorganization meeting. The board adopted a regular meeting calendar (second and fourth Mondays of the month at the district high schools, with committee meeting cadence described in the board packet) and approved a standard administrative center as the district office with specified business hours.
Board members discussed committee assignments and delegate roles for regional organizations and asked new members to consider committee preferences. The reorganization concluded with the board moving into closed session on negotiating matters.
