The commission granted Amanda Etinge three special one-day licenses to sell and dispense wine and malt beverages at the Hellenic Center, 41 Broadway St., for Sierra Leone Independence Day on May 3 (7 p.m.–1:30 a.m.), a 60th birthday celebration on May 17 (7 p.m.–1:30 a.m.) and the Bavadeco USA convention and fundraiser on May 24 (7 p.m.–1:30 a.m.). Etinge told the commission she expects between 50 and 200 attendees for those events. Commissioner Donahue moved approval; Commissioner Krieger seconded, and the motion carried.
