BDD board reauthorizes major repair/replacement funds into FY25

The Buckman Direct Diversion Board on May 1 unanimously approved reauthorizing projects and related funds from the BDD Major Repair and Replacement Fund (MRRF) from fiscal year 2024 into fiscal year 2025.
Kurt, a BDD staff member, described the action as an annual housekeeping step required to close out projects in the accounting system at fiscal year end and reopen them in the new fiscal year. He said the reauthorization was delayed due to staff transitions and that the normal August or September timing had been missed this year.
Kurt said the projects on the list had procurements already open last year and that reauthorizing them does not require new procurements under the city's process; staff will analyze which projects remain authorized and unexpended and reopen them in FY25. The board moved to approve the reauthorization; the chair called the motion and the board declared a unanimous vote.
