During the director's report on April 30, 2025, Public Works staff reviewed the city's operational role during the recent NFL Draft events and commended crews for sanitation and traffic management.
The director recognized operations director Purott and assistant director Jim Burnett for their roles and said staff performed last-minute adjustments requested by the police department, cleaning inside the draft perimeter each night after events. The director recounted an email from an NFL official stating they "were as giddy as little kids watching our sweepers," noting NFL command control had complimented the city's precision.
Staff said traffic management operated without backups onto interstate traffic and that the city reported few incidents during the multi-day event. Committee members thanked staff; the committee moved to receive and place the director's report on file.
