The Green Bay Improvement Service Committee voted April 30, 2025, to award the Grandview Industrial Park stormwater pond design project to Ares Associates Inc. at a contract value of $499,096.
Public Works staff described the project as creation of a regional stormwater detention basin for the Grandview Industrial Park to provide more efficient stormwater management and allow developers to connect proportionately for runoff capacity. "If you build it bigger, it has a little bit better opportunity to handle the regional stormwater as opposed to 5 individual small ponds," staff said, using a fish-tank analogy to explain the benefits of a larger regional facility.
Staff said the project is funded by the Detoxia Open Financing District and that Ares Associates is a multidisciplinary civil engineering firm the city has worked with previously. The committee approved the award on a motion seconded by Alder Presley; the motion carried.
