The Delhi Township Board of Trustees adopted Resolution 2025-56 to establish parking regulations for all township-owned parking areas and directed staff to post signs and publish notice consistent with state requirements.
Assistant Administrator/Staff (presentation by Miller and Chief Braun) described the regulations as a uniform set of rules that will allow enforcement of long-term parking, derelict vehicles, unhooked trailers, boats, and commercial-storage uses in township lots. Miller said the rules clarify ambiguous statutory language about public versus private lots and create an enforceable standard for township-owned lots.
"This is new parking language; with the exception of limited park rules, we haven't had any parking regulations on township parking," Miller said. The administrator said the rules will help keep parking areas safe and orderly; he told trustees the regulations will take effect 30 days after notice and signage are posted.
Trustee Tony Davis and others said the item had been discussed on social media and that nearby residential partners had no negative comments. The resolution was moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
