Board recognizes Jesus Zavala as new elementary principal

The Farmersville Unified School District board recognized Jesus Zavala as the district's incoming elementary principal during the personnel consent portion of the meeting.
During the personnel approvals (item 13.1), the board made a motion by Board Member John Alvarez, seconded by Board Member Freddy Espinosa, to approve certificated personnel items 13.1.0.1 through 13.1.0.6. The motion carried unanimously, 5–0. After the vote, the board introduced Jesus Zavala and he offered brief remarks.
Zavala thanked the board and introduced his family by first names, saying he and his family are pleased to join Farmersville. He said he is from Mendota and spoke positively about working with the district's RTI/PBIS/MTSS language and looking forward to collaborating with Hester and other site teams.
Trustees welcomed Zavala; the board did not take additional action beyond the personnel approval recorded on the consent agenda.
