A public hearing on the waiver was held at the start of the agenda item; no members of the public spoke on the waiver during the hearing. The board approved the renewal on a roll‑call vote after a motion by Don Carmichael and a second by Lisa Hessel; all members present voted yes.
The waiver will be submitted to the Illinois State Board of Education as the district’s request for approval; if approved by the state, the simulator substitution will remain in place for five years.
