Stacy Bentley, HR manager for the Legislative Affairs Agency, told the committee the agency needed two decisions to start the recruitment: how long to advertise and whether applicant names would be made public. "My name for the record, my name is Stacy Bentley. I'm the HR manager for Legislative Affairs Agency," Bentley said.
Bentley said the agency's standard minimum posting period on Workplace Alaska is 10 days and that the committee could extend that period if needed. Representative Kopp moved that the names of ombudsman applicants "not be made public until the confirmation process is complete." After an opportunity for discussion, members removed objections and adopted the amendment, and the chair announced the motion was adopted.

A committee member asked whether the Workplace Alaska link could be promoted beyond the posting. Bentley said the agency would provide a link to the committee after posting and suggested members could share it on their own social media pages. "Once we post on Workplace Alaska, we can provide a link to the committee. . . . you can post the link and encourage any qualified applicants to apply using other means, referring them back to Workplace Alaska," Bentley said. Bentley also noted that the Department of Labor job centers' website typically links to Workplace Alaska.
The chair said the committee would likely reconvene in about a week and a half and try to finish its work by the end of the legislative session. The meeting, called to order at the start of the day, concluded shortly after those votes were taken.
