The West Geauga Local School District Board of Education approved several routine personnel and policy items and then adjourned to an executive session to consider compensation for public employees.
The board approved Resolution 141, the certified substitute list for the 2024–25 school year; Resolution 142, classified staff appointments for 2024–25; and Resolution 143, rescinding a service contract for 2024–25. The board also approved Resolution 144 to accept the first reading of revised board policies as listed. These items were moved, seconded and approved by roll-call votes recorded in the meeting minutes.
After completing the open-session agenda, the board adopted a resolution to adjourn into executive session at 5:23 p.m. “to consider compensation of public employees.” The board invited Doctor Marquardt, Karen Pindler and Doctor Benincasa to the executive session and stated no action would be taken following the closed session; a later entry shows the board reconvened in regular session at 5:54 p.m.
The routine votes were conducted without extended discussion in the public record; the executive session was limited to compensation discussions among board members and invited administrators and, per board statement, would not produce immediate board action.
