Sylvania Schools board approves consent agenda including financial reports and multiple personnel items

The Sylvania Schools Board of Education approved multiple routine items on consent at its April meeting, including minutes of previous meetings, the treasurer’s report and a set of personnel recommendations covering licensed and classified hires, resignations and contract recommendations.
During the meeting the treasurer said the district will present an updated financial forecast at the May regular meeting. Board members approved appropriations and vendor-specific changes tied to grant funds and other internal housekeeping; the treasurer described these as late-year cleanup items and said final appropriations will be approved in June.
Several grouped personnel matters were approved on consent, including licensed contract recommendations, administrative contracts, job-share eliminations and various classified hires and rescissions. The board approved these items by roll call; board members Julie, Greg, Dan, Tammy and Kim voted yes when each group was presented.
The superintendent said the district will present a midyear update and an updated forecast in May to reflect end-of-year trends. No dissent or requests to remove items from the consent group were recorded during the meeting.
