North Bend council adopts model zoning code, deletes footnote that allowed rooftop equipment above 45-foot limit

The Village of North Bend council voted April 28 to adopt a revised zoning code that sets a 45‑foot maximum building height for M‑1 (service industrial) zones and removes a footnote that would have allowed mechanical and ventilation equipment to extend 10 feet above that limit.

Council members and staff said the change — requested by a resident speaker, Fran — was intended to preserve views of the Ohio River and the William Henry Harrison Memorial Tomb. Fran asked the council to “remove the footnote” on page 23, item 4, which she said allowed “mechanical equipment and or ventilation systems [to] extend up to 10 feet above the height of the building.”
