County to issue RFP to hire facilitator for lived‑experience housing steering committee

Thurston County Public Health and Social Services on April 29 told commissioners it will ask the board to authorize an RFP to solicit a provider to facilitate and support the county's lived‑experience housing steering committee.
Jen Freiheit, Public Health and Social Services director, said the RFP would solicit a facilitator to support committee operations and noted the county began the initiative in 2021. Freiheit said staff circulated an e‑brief the prior afternoon outlining the facilitator scope and that she was available to answer questions.
Commissioners asked whether the RFP process and the purpose of the facilitator were explained in the e‑brief; staff said the e‑brief contained the requested follow‑up information. The item will be placed on the business meeting consent agenda for formal authorization to issue the RFP.
No board vote was taken at the work session. If the board authorizes the RFP at the business meeting, Public Health and Social Services will commence solicitation and return with a recommended contract when the procurement is complete.
