Arlington schools honor dozens of staff and students in "Simply Amazing" recognition program

The Arlington School District recognized dozens of students and staff during the meeting’s presentation segment, part of the district’s annual "Simply Amazing" recognition program.
District leaders described the nomination process: from Jan. 14 to March 14 students submitted nominations for staff who have made a difference; the district said 410 nominations were received. Staff nominations were selected by cabinet and will be returned to the honored employees along with certificates and photographs to be displayed through the next year. Student nominees were selected by school staff and introduced by their school administrators.
At the meeting, leaders and teachers introduced staff members and students from multiple schools, including Apple ECAP Preschool, Eagle Creek Elementary, Camp Prairie, President’s Elementary, Haller Middle School, Arlington High School and others. Presentations summarized why each honoree was chosen, citing attributes such as perseverance, kindness, leadership and instructional excellence. Several honored students and staff were presented in absentia and will receive certificates and photos.
District staff asked recipients and families to remain after the ceremony for photos; trustees and attendees applauded the honorees and thanked organizers for arranging the recognition program. The presentation was described by the superintendent and board president as an opportunity to celebrate staff and students across the district.
