On April 29 the Longmeadow School Committee approved a suite of FY25 grant revisions and accepted a new small grant to support Center School’s composting outreach.
District Finance staff presented Revision No. 3 for several grants (Title I, METCO, Drug-Free Communities) to reallocate awarded funds within those grants to reflect current spending priorities; staff said the changes do not alter total award amounts. Separately, the committee accepted a new $2,000 Cooler Communities grant to Center School to support school food-waste composting, promotion at the Future Planet Fiesta on May 3, and a raffle of a residential composting bin.
A motion to approve the FY25 grants and special revenues revision (dated 04/23/2025) passed unanimously. Committee members asked no substantive follow-up questions on the reallocations; staff noted the Cooler Communities grant will be incorporated into the FY25 budget records.
