Chair Sharon Hassid told the Agricultural Labor Relations Board on Thursday that she will appear before the Senate Rules Committee for confirmation and that the board will mark its 50th anniversary with events at the UC Davis Farmworker Conference.
Hassid said she will go through the “senate confirmation process, and [be] appearing before senate rules next Wednesday, May 7.” She also said the ALRA at 50 celebration will coincide with the annual UC Davis Farmworker Conference scheduled May 21–23, with the middle day, Thursday, May 22, devoted to a daylong ALRB-focused session and a reception following. Hassid said the ALRB session will include a keynote from former Governor Jerry Brown and will feature current and former ALRB staff and stakeholders who participate in the board’s proceedings.
The chair asked members to contact staff with questions and noted the Thursday portion of the conference was waitlist only at the time of the meeting. The board also announced its next regular meeting will be Wednesday, May 14 at 10 a.m., in Sacramento and virtually.
