The presenter explained statutory limitations on deputy pay and position levels, noting a temporary third deputy must be adjusted per Iowa code (the third deputy cannot be compensated at the same full deputy rate while temporary).
Supervisors voted unanimously to approve the temporary position and authorized the office to post and hire under the constraints described.
