What I'd like for that memorandum to include is preservation and a cadence of how that office will be transitioning... which will include anything electronic, anything in paper," the chairman said, asking Commissioner Joe Graham to assemble his committee and submit the memo to the chair for review.
Commissioner Graham agreed to convene his committee and said they could begin groundwork immediately following the meeting. The chairman said the committee could briefly meet that afternoon to start laying the groundwork.
The request is procedural direction to the legal committee; no formal vote was required. Commissioners discussed timing and the logistical need to preserve records during an office transition. The chair also reminded commissioners of meeting scheduling changes: a dual agenda and regular meeting on May 14 and no commission meeting in early May because many members will attend a state legislative conference.
County staff and the legal committee were tasked with producing the memorandum and a proposed cadence for preservation and transfer of records; the committee will report back to the chairman for review.
