ATLANTA — The Transportation Committee on Tuesday confirmed Mayor Andre Dickens’ appointment of Angela Bowers to the City of Atlanta Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Advisory Committee.
Angela Bowers introduced herself to the committee and described 18 years of city service across multiple departments, including recent work as the city’s director of disability access in ADA compliance. She said she is a certified ADA coordinator and a project management professional and pledged to bring collaboration and policy knowledge to the advisory committee.
The committee voted to favorably recommend the appointment, 6 yays, 0 nays. Council staff said the appointee will be contacted with next steps.
Bowers thanked the mayor and several city staff who supported her nomination in her remarks to the committee.
