Summary
The board approved a housekeeping amendment to parking calculations to reflect that accessory dwelling units will not be allowed in select districts; the change updates entries from '0' or '1' spaces to 'NA' in affected districts and requires a two-thirds vote.
The Planning Board approved a technical amendment to the zoning parking table to reflect the removal of accessory dwelling units (ADUs) in certain districts, planning staff said.
Planning Department staffer Meg Trudell explained that the amendment updates the parking chart to remove numeric parking requirements where ADUs will no longer be permitted. "It just changes, from 0 spaces required to NA in the CDT and CMI district because accessory dwellings, as proposed, are no longer going to be allowed in those districts," Trudell said. The same change moves entries from 1 space to NA in CN, VN and BTEC districts to match the proposed use changes.
The board treated the change as a technical housekeeping item. There were no public comments. The board moved to close the hearing and made a motion to send a positive recommendation to town meeting; members recorded their votes in favor. Staff advised the motion requires a two-thirds vote at town meeting because it affects the zoning table.
