State expands Meals on Wheels funding with Medicaid match; department reports early-quarter results

The change “added approximately $1,400,000 in federal match, which totaled $2,400,000 in the Global Commitment funding,” Jason Palapidas, State Unit on Aging director, said. He told committee members the Global Commitment grants run from Oct. 1, 2024, through Sept. 30, 2025, and obligate area agencies on aging to reimburse meal providers at a minimum of $6.50 per meal.
