At the Templeton Board of Health meeting on April 28, the board’s health director reported nine molecular COVID tests recorded through April 19 and said there were zero positive results.
The director said she is considering phasing the COVID update out of the weekly communicable-disease report and continuing reporting to the board on a monthly or quarterly basis. “There were 9 molecular tests recorded for COVID, and there were 0 positive test results,” she said.
The director told the board she will attend a Massachusetts Department of Public Health webinar about measles and noted that while Massachusetts had no recent cases, several other states have reported measles. “With summer travel and the spring break that just happened … there’s a good possibility that we’ll start to see something happening around here,” she said, but added there were no local cases at the time of the meeting.
The director also reported there were no further cases of pertussis (whooping cough).
