It's an additional open gate purchase and as it is over a hundred thousand dollars, we are looking for your approval.” When a committee member asked whether the purchase would provide two units at each high school, staff replied, “Yes. It's an additional 10.”
Staff told the committee the grant award was approximately $177,000 and that the district would make up a small difference from its local safety budget. Committee members did not ask further substantive questions. The committee moved to send the grant purchase to the full board for approval; the motion received a second and was approved by voice vote.
The committee did not adopt a final purchase contract at the meeting; the item will return to the full board with bid documents and contract terms for formal approval.
