Committee forwards $915 teacher supplement payment for staff in May

The Union County Public Schools Finance Committee voted to forward a proposal to make the annual state teacher supplement payment, which staff said will be $915 this year, to the full board for approval.
Miss McLean told the committee the district has received state funds for teacher supplements for several years and makes the payment once a year in May to close out the school year and cover the past school year’s eligibility. “This year, it's $915, which is a little bit less than what we got last year,” she said, noting last year’s payment was about $936.
Committee members asked no substantive questions. The committee moved to send the payment item to the full board; the motion received a second and was approved by voice vote. The final distribution and eligibility lists will be determined and administered by district payroll and human-resources staff subject to state program rules.
