Barrington board approves redevelopment agreement for Milo project in Liberty & Hough area

The Village Board on April 20 approved, by omnibus consent, a redevelopment agreement between the Village of Barrington and Milo Residential Properties LLC for property at 200–300 North Huff Street in the Liberty & Hough redevelopment area.
Village President Karen Darch described the plan earlier in the meeting, saying the project “will bring 125 apartments, retail space that will be restaurant at least in part, and then behind it, those car condominiums.” She noted the parcel is in what some have called the Golden Triangle (Redevelopment Area No. 1) and that the redevelopment agreement will allow the project to proceed.
The redevelopment ordinance was included among consent agenda items A through H and was approved by omnibus vote. The roll call recorded unanimous affirmative votes by trustees present; the transcript records the consent agenda approval after the motion and second, and the board chair confirmed the consent agenda was approved.
Jo (Joe) Milo, the owner associated with Milo Residential Properties, was noted as attending the meeting. No additional budgetary figures or construction timetable were given during the board meeting; Darch and other trustees said the project will move forward now that the agreement is approved.
