Island Creek Road resident asks supervisors to add deteriorating road to VDOT six‑year plan

She described a “30 plus foot drop off” at a large curve with no guardrail where “people have gone over it,” and said ditches recently installed by VDOT keep washing away. “The dust is horrible. It covers everything,” she added, saying children play outside and she worries about inhalation.
Newman said at least five of the seven households on her stretch support paving and asked supervisors to consider the road for VDOT’s program. A supervisor told her the six‑year plan item had already been decided for this budget cycle but that she should finish her remarks; another said they would “take note.”
