Committee reviews park walking‑path quote; American Tower and county funds discussed as possible sources

Golf Manor Village staff told the finance committee an initial estimate from engineering/consultant firm JMA for reinforcing portions of a park walking path so it could support vehicle traffic is about $110,000. "They gave us an approximate cost which would include reinforcing significant portions of the walking path so that it could be driven on potentially," staff said.
Staff said $25,000 has been provided by American Tower toward the project. They also noted $35,000 previously given by the county could be used for the walking path but is not required to be spent on that project; council retains discretion over how county funds are used. Together, those amounts would cover about $60,000 of the $110,000 estimate, leaving approximately $50,000 to be identified.
Staff described specific areas requiring thicker concrete — behind a baseball backstop and the area between the baseball diamond and an amphitheater — where organizers had requested thicker pavement so food trucks could drive there. The consultant’s estimate included up to 9 inches of concrete in those locations, which staff said is more concrete than originally anticipated.
Committee members asked for options that could pare down costs and requested that staff return with a more detailed, itemized quote. Staff said JMA estimated a 45–60 day turnaround to add this work to its backlog and produce more detailed pricing. No formal funding decision was made at the meeting.
