Tinley Park board adopts $226,019,016 budget for next fiscal year

The President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Tinley Park on April 29 adopted Ordinance 2025-O-009 approving the village's fiscal year budget, which lists $74,861,385 for the general fund, $10,629,100 for the Tinley Park Public Library general fund, and $226,019,016 in total expenditures across all village funds.

Trustee Shaw moved to adopt the ordinance; no questions were raised during the meeting and the clerk recorded affirmative roll-call votes. The ordinance had been posted on the village transparency portal since April 7, 2025, and a public hearing on the proposed budget was held April 15, 2025, as required.

The budget ordinance provides the formal spending plan for the village and the library for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2025. Village staff who worked on the budget, including finance staff led by Hannah, were publicly thanked by meeting participants for preparing the budget while implementing a new financial system.

The board's action was adoption of the ordinance; the transcript shows no amendments or conditions attached to the vote. The ordinance is eligible for adoption and will govern village and library expenditures for the stated fiscal year.
