Barnstable County delegates approve list of charter-review topics including separation-of-powers and grant oversight

Barnstable County — The standing committee on governmental regulations voted April 28 to send a compiled list of topics for the charter review committee to the full Assembly of Delegates, the committee chair said, after delegates discussed items that include the legislative role in the budget, advisory committees, and oversight of grant funding.

The recommendation matters because many delegates said the county charter and related state law contain outdated or unclear provisions that affect how the Assembly exercises its legislative and budgetary authority.
