Mission EDC highlights $800 million in development and $1 million in small-business investments during small-business proclamation

She also told council, "In the last 2 years, we've been able to invest nearly $1,000,000 into small business assistance," naming programs that include Ruby Red Ventures, the Build Mission Fund and a downtown renovation program.
Garcia and EDC staff introduced several small-business owners who described their experience with EDC programs. Christie Gonzales, founder of Interspark Performing Arts and a Ruby Red pitch-competition winner, credited the program with expansion support. Another local business representative, Pilar (last name not specified on the record), described product manufacturing partnerships the business is pursuing with regional retailers.
Council action
Council moved, seconded and adopted the proclamation marking the week of April 27–May 3, 2025 as National Small Business Week in Mission by unanimous vote. The council separately adopted a proclamation recognizing Economic Development Week for May 2025.
