She said Jam Fest will be in downtown State College on May 17 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at MLK Plaza and Fraser Street and that the foundation will host a benefit comedy show at Axeman Brewery on May 19 with doors opening at 6 p.m.
The commissioners emphasized local partnerships and services that connect people to care. Marissa also noted a national three‑digit crisis number, saying, “there's a 3 digit number that people can call 988,” and added that the line is operated locally by Center Helps.
Commissioner remarks praised the Jana Marie Foundation’s outreach, and the board discussed available trainings the foundation offers, including youth and adult Mental Health First Aid and monthly QPR suicide prevention sessions. The board then voted to adopt the proclamation; a motion and second were recorded and the clerk announced the outcome as “motion carries.”
