The plate was authorized by Senate Bill 163 and requires state legislative approval and a signature-gathering process, Norman said. He told the board the additional $25 paid for the specialty plate will not go to the BMV but will instead be routed to the Dublin Food Pantry.
"You all be happy to know that the, additional $25 you pay for the specialty plate, the Dublin City Schools plate does not go to the BMV," Charlie Norman said. "It's going to a very, very worthy cause, the Dublin Food Pantry."
Dr. Marshhausen, superintendent of Dublin City Schools, thanked Senator Acunze and students who worked on the effort and noted the plate project took several years of advocacy and student involvement. Students and district staff who gathered signatures and met with legislators were singled out by board members and district leaders.
When asked how residents can obtain the plate, Norman said people can apply online at bmv.ohio.gov or in person at any deputy registrar office.
The presentation was ceremonial and informational; no board action on the plate was required at the meeting.
