Chandler schedules 'Chandler Talks' May 10 as part of general plan update; online survey open through June

Council Member Hawkins told the Chandler City Council on April 10 that the city has begun its general plan update and outlined opportunities for public input.

"We'll be hosting the Chandler Talks. It's a free community event focused on shaping our future through the general plan update," Council Member Hawkins said. The event will be held Saturday, May 10 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Chandler Center for the Arts and will focus on water and housing topics, Hawkins said.

Hawkins also noted an online questionnaire is available through June for residents to comment on the general plan's vision statement, guiding principles and housing topics. "To find the survey, please go to chandleraz.gov/generalplan," Hawkins said.

The remarks were part of the council's current events section; no vote or formal council action was taken on the general plan at the April 10 meeting.
