The Tempe City Council on a unanimous vote accepted the City of Tempe’s fiscal year 2024 financial statements and audit reports.
Laura Calder, Tempe’s Financial Services Director, asked the council to approve the FY24 financial statements, noting the city filed early and received an award from the Governor’s Financial Officers Association. Britney Williams, engagement partner for the audit firm, told the council the firm “gave a clean opinion,” meaning they did not find material misstatements in the city’s financial statements.
Williams described the audit process and said the firm will finalize remaining reports, including the single audit and HUD certifications, in the coming weeks. The motion to approve the financial statements was moved by Councilmember Heating and seconded by Councilmember Adams; the council voted 7‑0 to accept the audit.
