Committee members expressed concern about creating an unfunded liability if the district permits large carryovers to accumulate, and discussed practical alternatives including directing staff to take time off, a limited buyout, or a combination of using time and buying out some days. The business administrator and superintendent agreed to provide detailed balances per employee and estimates of the cost to buy out excess days so the committee can consider the options at a subsequent meeting (May or June). No vote was taken; the matter was tabled pending the requested figures.
