Dispensary owner asks Mesa to revisit 2020 marijuana delivery prohibition, cites lost tax revenue

Perrin said other Arizona cities allow adult-use delivery and that Mesa’s prohibition prevents local businesses from providing those services and from collecting sales tax on delivered adult-use sales. “Other cities are able to deliver to citizens in Mesa, but the businesses here can't. And it actually prohibits the city from collecting any sales tax from it,” Perrin said.
Perrin said he intended to return with data on taxes previously collected and said he supports zoning changes similar to those requested by another public speaker. His remarks were part of the public comment period; the transcript records no staff response or formal council action on the request during the meeting.
