District gives update on concession stand, roofing, paving and playground timelines

Assistant Superintendent Floyd Collins told the Pelham City Schools board on April 28 that construction and capital projects across the district are moving forward and provided target dates for key items.
Collins said the concession-stand drawings for Pelham High School are complete and that the district expects a one-year construction timeline. He said work will use the existing concession stand through the upcoming football season and that construction will begin after the season.
"The drawings have been completed, and we have a 1 year construction timeline," Collins said.
Collins reported the outdoor culinary kitchen is assembled and ready for a scheduled walk-through, and the high school roof project is near completion; district staff are coordinating final sign-off while ensuring warranties remain intact. He said a paving contractor has agreed to begin bus-road paving the week of the Memorial Day holiday and that the playground resurfacing at Pelham Ridge Elementary is scheduled to start after the school year and finish by July 31.
Other items Collins described included band-room audiovisual work, furniture and desk upgrades at Pelham Oaks, landscaping work at Pelham Park to improve camera visibility, and a code-of-conduct revision committee that will present drafts for review at the May meeting ahead of a planned June approval.
Collins also circulated an itinerary for a high-school site visit and invited board members to contact him with questions.
