Board approves bulk personnel items; members recognize promoted staff and retirees

The Pelham City Schools Board of Education approved items 1 through 19 at its April 28 meeting, a package that the district described as including eight resignations or retirements, seven employments and four transfers or other personnel actions.
The board voted to approve the grouped personnel slate by voice vote after the superintendent summarized the package; the board later took a separate vote to accept the superintendent's own resignation (see separate story).
Board members used the personnel segment of the meeting to acknowledge individual employees who were promoted or retiring. The board publicly congratulated staff members taking new roles, including promotions to assistant principal positions and several internal hires. The board also named multiple retirees and thanked them for years of service; among them were long-tenured staff from the CMP program and building-level staff.
District officials said the personnel items were included in the approved budget and that some supplements and academic support positions added earlier in the meeting had been anticipated and funded. The board approved the package with a voice vote; members did not identify individual movers and seconders on the record during the grouped approval.
The board asked that departing staff be publicly thanked and that the district continue transition planning for promoted employees and new hires.
