Glendale council approves consent agenda, proclaims May as Bike Month and recognizes Municipal Clerk’s Week

The Common Council of the City of Glendale approved its consent agenda and adopted two proclamations during the reorganization meeting.
Items on the consent agenda included March monthly reports, a change order and payment to Tree Care LLC, payment to lawn contractors, a resolution authorizing the director of city services to submit the city's annual recycling grant application, cancellation of the May 26 council meeting for Memorial Day, and approval of prior meeting minutes. The consent agenda was adopted by motion from Alderman Philip Bailey and seconded by Tamika Vukovich and carried without objection.
Under new business, the council approved a proclamation designating May as Bike Month, May 16 as Bike to Work Day and a run/walk/bike Glendale event on May 17. The city administrator said supplies and giveaways would be ordered and more details would be published. The council also approved a proclamation recognizing Professional Municipal Clerk’s Week (designating May 4–10) to honor the city clerk and staff.
Both proclamations passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition. The mayor encouraged aldermen to help promote the community biking events.
