The Ohio Senate Higher Education Committee on a voice/roll-call vote favorably reported eight of Governor Mike DeWine’s appointments to university and college boards of trustees, the committee clerk said, with the final tally recorded as 6 to 0.
Committee members reviewed biographical materials for each nominee and heard no discussion before Vice Chair Jane Timken moved to favorably report the appointments. “I move that we favorably report the governor's appointments to the committee on rules and reference,” Vice Chair Jane Timken said.
The appointments reported favorably included Roy Aaron Adams (Shawnee State University), Kristen Aspen (North Central State College Board of Trustees), Diane Downing (Cleveland State University Board of Trustees), William Ebbing (Miami University Board of Trustees), Mary Hammond and Travis Wright (Owens State Community College Board of Trustees), Anita Rice (Belmont College Board of Trustees) and Trinity Kronk (Northeast Ohio Medical University Board of Trustees). The clerk reported the vote and the chair announced the appointments were approved 6 to 0.
No public testimony or dissenting comments were recorded and committee members were reminded to sign the official vote sheet.
Clerk records show the committee followed the standard practice of placing the confirmed appointees’ materials on members’ iPads in advance; no further committee action was recorded during the hearing.
