The Wausau Plan Commission adopted a resolution to forward Tax Increment District (TID) No. 3 Project Plan Amendment No. 6, which adds multiple infrastructure projects and associated project costs to the district’s plan.
Mary Anne (finance staff) described the amendment as adding project costs — not changing TID boundaries — and listed infrastructure projects including Fulton Street improvements, First to North Seventh Street water and sewer work, First Street/River Drive, demolition of the former water plant, and parking and street improvements tied to redevelopment of the former mall site. She said construction engineering, sidewalks, lighting, water and sewer and demolition are among eligible expenses.
Mary Anne said the amendment follows an initial joint review board meeting and that the timeline calls for Plan Commission action to go to the Common Council on May 13 with a further Joint Review Board meeting afterward.
Commissioners voted to approve the resolution forwarding the plan amendment to the Common Council.
