Public Works reports asphalt repairs, downtown drain cleaning scheduled May 5–9

Jason Lawson, public works superintendent, told the April 28 Board of Public Works and Safety meeting that crews used 22 tons of asphalt for pothole repairs, replaced six traffic signs, mowed easements and began summer curb painting.
Lawson said stormwater crews responded to 452 utility locates, demolished structures at Royal and Kersey Street and Baron and Kersey Street, televised a culvert on Indianapolis Road for inspection and conducted preventative drain cleaning after recent storms. He said downtown drain cleaning and stop-bar repainting are scheduled for May 5–9; the work will result in minor restrictions but not full street closures.
On inspections, Lawson reported two SWIP inspections, eight right-of-way inspections and three complaint investigations during the reporting period.
