Lebanon Police report: 755 calls, 21 arrests; several officer certifications completed

Chief Morgan, Lebanon Police Department, told the Lebanon City Board of Public Works and Safety at its April 28 meeting that the department responded to 755 calls for service since the last meeting and processed 21 arrests.
The arrests included seven for operating while intoxicated, four for outstanding warrants, three for driving while suspended, one for dealing methamphetamine, two for possession of narcotics, one for reckless driving, one for public intoxication, one for theft and one for criminal trespassing. The department also filed 19 crash reports and forwarded three gun-permit applications for final approval.
Chief Morgan highlighted recent training milestones: Officer Jameson Wright completed a CPR instructor course on April 17 and is now certified to teach CPR to new officers; on April 20 Officer Brianna Deckard completed the breath-test operator course at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and is certified to administer breath tests; and Sergeant James Kuntz completed a two-day ride course that begins his path to becoming a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) instructor.
The chief closed by noting these certifications expand in-house training capacity and capability for the department.
